Anna has been living with boyfriend Adam for so long that she feels stuck in a rut. This begins with a sunday morning where she feels so stuck in the routine that she even turns down the obligatory nookie. Bored and also exhausted after working 60 hours a week, she needs something new in her life, though the thought of an affair horrifies her. In her words 'It's not that I expect endless thrills and spills, rollercoasters make me hurl', but she does need some spark re-ignited.
'Monogamy and monotony are worryingly similar words', and this is what is causing the mid life crisis. The real crunch comes during a romantic weekend away in which a proposal is rejected resulting in a split. The problem is that the 'mothers' clique at work don't know and the camp editor wants her to do the best bridal issue ever. As the problems mount up she will have to decide what is really best for her.

A fun romp through the perils of keeping secrets and some wry observations on how close comfortable and boring can get. There are some wicked observations, particularly on the work colleagues. It never tries to get too pretentious and the style and length are just right.
