The Giraffe concept is to bring a range of global food to a family friendly environment and this is a them throughout the restaurant, even down to the giraffe shaped cocktail sticks.
The Spitalfields branch is located at the old market and is open from 7.45am to 11pm mon to fri and 9am to 11pm at weekends. With 80 covers in two areas (the middle is given over to a bar and kitchen) it has vibrant colours, but also big windows to keep an eye on some of the events that go on in the area. Why Giraffe? Well the answer is writ large in the menu - the giraffe has the largest heart in the animal kingdom!
It is aimed at the family, although Spitalfields which is on the edge of the city will have plenty of businessmen, We attended on a weekday evening and found it to be a relaxed affair with plenty of atmosphere. The menu is eclectic and you can find tabouleh, mezze, humous and falafel from the middle east nestling alongside burgers and Thai chicken.
